I decided it was the perfect time to rewatch Brooklyn Nine-Nine. It is such a fun and comforting show to watch, I finished it in no time.

I think Brooklyn Nine-Nine is such a good show, because it is fun, but also serious at the same time. It is not the same formula being repeated again and again. Characters develop, they have their own lives, relationships and problems. They grow. And while all the characters are such unique individuals with different personalities, they are always there for each other. They might not agree on everything, but they are always there to help their friends.

Something that I only started to appreciate during this watch, is how the relationships evolve behind the camera, especially when it comes to Rosa. Rosa Diaz is obviously a very closed-off character. She is tough and she doesn’t share much about her personal life, but she loves her friends. And her friendships are able to evolve, without it always being shown. She has created such a great friendship with Holt, but also with Amy who is the polar opposite of who she is. It is just lovely to see how people trust her enough to share things, with the viewers not having seen every single detail of the friendship.

Each episode is also such a good story. What I like is how it is never too serious or too unserious. If someone is going through something difficult, there is also a storyline where people are just having fun. If people are simply having a good time, there is most of the time also a lesson to be learned or the relationships evolve. In general, the show is always fun, but they are also not afraid to talk about serious subjects, especially further into the show. It is diverse without being forced and they talk about real-life problems without having it be annoying. It is done in a light, but still serious way.

My favourite character is probably Amy. She just reminds me of myself. She is very organised and structured, and freaks out when things don’t go her way. I love her relationship with Jake. They are able to rely on each other for anything and everything. They struggle, but they are always able to communicate and figure things out. They have fun together, but also have such a healthy relationship. I loved watching their relationship evolve.

All characters are unique and amazing to watch. They all have their own personalities, their own developments, but will always be there for one another. This group of people are able to challenge each other, but also rely on each other. Every viewer will have their characters: the character they can relate to and the character they just simply love.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine is just an amazing show. I think it has something for everyone, and again, while it is a lot of fun to watch, they are also not afraid to talk about serious topics.
